Prussia x Glasses-wearing!Self-conscious!Reader

     *RIIIIIIIIING*

The loud, harsh sound of the school bell roughly jerked you out of your daydreaming. You hurriedly looked around to get your bearings again and then started following everybody else's example by packing up.

Your head snapped up, I forgot to write down my homework! You squinted at the white board that displayed the homework. To your dismay, the words were too blurry to be read. Slightly frustrated, you stopped packing to wait for everyone to leave so you could move to the front to copy it. Fortunately, you did not have to wait too long before the majority of the people left, but Mrs. (Random teacher name) wasn't very happy.

Walking out the door, you thought to yourself, I'm glad my friend isn't in that class.

The crowded hallways were deafeningly loud as always as you made your way out of the building with the current of students. Sometimes a person would brush by you, but being the slightly shy person you are, you said nothing.

You sigh in relief once the crisp, outside air greeted you. Your feet turned and you, with difficulty, broke away from the flow of people. Your pace now slowed to a casual walk since you weren't crowded. The light, afternoon shadows welcomed you as you headed into them.

The side of the building. It was shaded and quiet now that class ended and no one wanted to be around. You sat with your back against the cool wall and your legs crossed. The floor didn't bother you like it did some people.

Your hand reached into your bag and pulled out the book that you were currently reading. The cover grazed your fingertips as you opened it.

The words blurred before your eyes, you blinked then squinted. Still, the words refused to be legible. You cautiously looked around for anyone, the sight of an empty hallway assured you that there was no one around. Nervously, you reached into your bag once again to grab your glasses. You didn't like people seeing them, they were a dull (color), and (round/rectangular) with thick lenses. You placed the glasses on your face and looked around again, everything was clearer now, even your book.

You returned to your reading, actually seeing the printed words this time. Getting lost in the story wasn't exactly hard and within seemingly no time at all, you heard careless footsteps turning around the corner. A familiar voice accompanied the footsteps.

     "Hey (y/n)!!!"

Your book instantly shut and you scrambled to take off and hide your glasses before this person could see.

When you recognised the person, your shoulders sagged, slightly in relief. It was just your loudmouth friend Gilbert and his cute little friend, Gilbird. Despite your shy demeanor, your best friend was your polar opposite.

"H-hey Gilbert." You say, putting your glasses back in their case in your bag.

He eyed you suspiciously, "watcha got there, frau?"

You put on an overly fake smile and stuttered out "j-just my book. What are you doing here? I thought you already left with everyone else."

He let your little slip up pass and stood next to you. "No one vould give ze avesome me a ride, and I may have, sorta rented my ride out."  He started fiddling with his fingers at the end.

You sigh audibly, of course he did. When this happened, he usually asked to walk to your home and stay for a bit before someone could pick him up. "Okay Gil, now help me up." You reached your hand up towards him to haul you up to your feet, which he did.

Together, you started waking to your house. You didn't even notice him acting a little... off.

(Time skip of awesomeness!)

You unlocked the door of your house and let your 'guest' in. His backpack sailed through the air until it contacted your couch with a thud. You carefully set your book bag down next to his and headed into the living room while Gilbert walked into the kitchen. It seemed like you two already had an unspoken agreement between yourselves.

"Hey Gil, what game do you wanna play?" You called to the kitchen.

A small pause followed your words until Gilbert broke it. "How about (f/g)?"

"'K." You answered back, pushing said game into the slot.

Gilbert took this time to stumble out of the kitchen with his arms full with chips, soda, and a beer he managed to sneak in.

You two played video games for an hour, but it got boring fast. Somehow, the pair of you ended up in your room with Gilbert on your bed playing on his phone and you reading at your desk.

You turned to look at him once, then turned your back to him and put on your glasses so he wouldn't see them.

Silence and stillness filled your room for about half an hour. You were too engulfed in your book to notice your best friend getting bored and sneaking up on you.

     "Boo!"

Your snap back to reality was a harsh one, seeing as you almost tipped back out of your chair with a shrill squeal.

Gilbert laughed his annoying (yet smexy) snake-like laughter while you desperately tryed to steady yourself again. The blush of embarrassment on your face didn't go unnoticed, as well as your glasses. When he stopped laughing, he piped up once again.

"Hey (y/n), I didn't know zhat jou wore glasses."

You turned away from him to hide your growing blush and huffed. "I don't like them."

"Aww, I think they look cute on you."

You froze at these words, a large, dark blush growing on your cheeks.

"W-what?" You managed to stutter out as you stared at him in disbelief.

A light pink blush coated his cheeks while he just smiled at you.

In a rare act of complete bravery, you removed your glasses and put it on your Prussian friend's pale face. He stared at you in surprise, you weren't usually this bold.

You giggled at his dumbfounded expression and bopped his nose lightly.

He blinked and seemed to return to normal with the goofy grin on his face. He struck a mock pose at you, "how do I look, (y/n)?"

You laughed wholeheartedly, "you look good with glasses Gil. But I already knew that~."

"How? Because I'm awesome?" He said confidently, expecting you to agree. But you had other plans.

"Let's just say a little birdie told me~." You say to tease him.

He paused, "Dammit Gilbird!" He said, making you have a laughing fit.

"I'm just kidding Gil. Let's just play another game." You said.

"Oh I know exactly ze game ve (we) can play~."

Prussia pushed you off your chair, glasses in his hands as he ran out of the room.

You yelled at him and chased him around the house.
